One of the great things about choosing a outdoor location, is the ability to not be confined to a studio. Newborns, on the other hand have the need for a climate controlled area and not to mention the delicacy it takes to handle and situate them from one scene to another so newborns sessions are always done indoors.
Location, Location, Location:
Family, maternity, seniors, engagements and bridals and anything else I missed.. I absolutely LOVE to shoot outdoors. There is so much room to capture one’s uniqueness in an outdoor setting. I strive to provide unique, powerful and memorable images that are much more than just a picture… they are a work of art. By utilizing only natural light, my imagery has a beautiful and realistic quality to it that is often unmatched by studio lighting. Capturing untold emotions in a toddler in that exploratory age. From a simple grin, to how they so carefully explore worlds around them. Those raw, pure unguarded emotions is what inspires me to do what I do.
Pricing:
Please keep in mind though that now a days some locations are charging a photography permit fee. In a past experience, I was told there was a $450 permit fee at certain location, another was $125. These prices, will vary so if you’re absolutely in love the location, or it holds special meaning to you, then it may well worth spending the extra money. Just know, there is plenty of other locations that are free.
I often shoot in urban and botanical areas mostly because these are public property, and at this time of this post no permits are required.
Choosing The Right Location For Your Outdoor Portraits!
Many times, I get asked for suggestion for great outdoor locations so I first answer that question with asking what is your own personal style? Do you love more natural botanical setting, modern, city feel or are you urban and edgy? Once I have an idea, I layout a list of recommendations. If none of them work, no problem. I’m sure we both can search and fine alternate locations that you are more comfortable with. Just keep this in mine, stick with your personal style and I’ll handle the rest!! ♥
