A Neutral Eye Look:
The key to soft makeup looks is canceling out the bright colors and stick to tones that are closer to your skin color. For eyeshadow, you should go for shimmery colors with the same undertone as your skin. So, if you have lighter skin with pink undertones, a glittery, baby pink eyeshadow would look great. Similarly, for darker skin tones, shimmery bronze eyeshadow will definitely bring that natural glow.
If you’re going natural, it’s best to avoid a fierce cat-eye or pointy winged liner. Instead, use brown eyeliner instead of black, and wing it out just a bit, extending your natural lash line. We’d also suggest you take it easy on the falsies and just opt for your trust lash-curler instead.
A Nude Lip:
If you’re going for soft makeup, a nude lip is your best friend. You want to get something as close to your natural lip color as possible, but with a hint of shine or gloss to tie the look together. If you’re a fan of more matte lip looks, a nude matte lip will also look great! But we’d advise you to swatch it on your hand before, because matte lipsticks tend to get a lot darker when they oxidize. If you don’t try it on beforehand, you might end up with a much darker lip than you intended to.
A Liquid Highlighter:
Powder highlighters are great, but they tend to look a bit cakey at times, and if it’s soft makeup you want, it’s best to stay away from powders. Liquid highlighters blend seamlessly into your foundation or concealer and make it look like you’re glowing from within.
